Rabies is a virus that spreads from the bite or saliva of the infected animals. Without proper medical attention, it can invite several fatal consequences, and may even cause death. There are three stages of this viral disease namely prodromal, furious, and paralytic stage. 1. Prodromal stage
The prodromal stage is the early stage of rabies, and displays subtle symptoms lasting for two to three days. Symptoms that are witnessed during this stage are as follows:

• Change in tone

A change in tone is the most common thing that your pet faces in this disease. If you observe this symptom, you can protect your pets from rabies at a very early stage.

• Fever

Your pet tends to stay in one place when it has a fever. Once you observe this trait, immediately take your pet to the vet’s dispensary for further diagnosis.

• Loss of appetite

Loss of appetite is another common symptom for which your pet may suffer. If you observe that your pet is not having it’s meal properly, then you must seek medical attention immediately.

2. Furious stage
From the name, you can understand that your pet may behave furiously and strangely during this second stage of rabies. It generally lasts for three to four days at a span. Unfortunately, not all infected animals experience it. Some of the common symptoms among pets includes:

• Eating anything

Your pet also has particular cravings for food, but if you observe any particular changes in its cravings, then it might be infected with rabies. You just need to observe the trait to protect your pets from rabies. Untimely treatment can even cause the death of your pet.

• Facial expression

Facial expression is also another observable trait in this stage of rabies. It has been reported to show aggressive expressions or irritabilities on their faces. You need to observe your pet regularly to understand those changes and ask for proper medical assistance.

• No fear of predators

Generally, all animals have a fear of their predators, but if they are affected with rabies, they act differently. They often behave restlessly and try to attack their predators.

3. Paralytic stage
This is the final stage of this disease, where traits are easily noticeable. Paralysis may set into several organs of your pet. Some observable symptoms are discussed below:

• Choking of voice in pets is a major symptom in this stage that needs to be taken care of
• In this stage, your pet might be unable to swallow foods, and foaming saliva at your pet’s mouth can be observed
• Finally, paralysis spreads to several organs like the throat and jaw. Then, paralysis rapidly spreads to other organs.
