Rep (Repetition)

VO2 Max

- Rep (repetition): One complete movement — one squat, one push-up, one bicep curl.
- Set: A group of consecutive reps performed without rest. "3 sets of 10 reps" means you do 10 reps, rest, repeat that cycle twice more.
- Volume: The total amount of work done — often calculated as sets × reps × weight lifted. Higher volume generally drives more muscle adaptation over time.
- Rest interval: The recovery time between sets. Shorter rest (30–60 seconds) is common in endurance-style circuits; longer rest (2–3 minutes) supports heavier strength work.

- Tempo: The speed of each phase of a movement — how fast you lower, pause, and lift. Written as a four-digit code (e.g., 3-1-2-0).
